W dniu 29 czerwca. Rada Gminy przyjeła jednogłośnie Uchwałę  w sprawie wyrażenia zgody na budowę pomnika, upamiętniającego katastrofę Liberatora B 24L EW-250 w dniu 16 października 1944 r. na działce nr 229/2 obręb ewidencyjny 0007 położonej w Kocine.
Podczas sesji przedstawiciele   Komitetu Upamietnienia Lotników EW250L Adam Jarkiewicz i Jakub Różycki, zaprezentowali projekt pomnika oraz przedstawili dotychczasowe dokonania Komitetu w sprawie inicjatywy upamietnienia Lotników EW250L.
W imieniu Komitetu Upamietnienia Lotników EW250L kierujemy podziękowania dla Przewodniczacego Rady Gminy pana Andrzeja Malec i Rady Gminy Opatowiec oraz obecnego na sesji Wójta Gminy Opatowiec pana Sławomir Kowalczyk.
